The Value of Good Auto Insurance
When you need it most, it may not do you much good to have purchased the cheapest car insurance possible. Whether you were trying to save money or just buy it to get it over with, you still get what you pay for – even with auto insurance.
Because of many insurance scams all around, it is even possible that you may have an insurance policy – but no money behind it to cover you. This really does happen to people – and they are left with thousands of dollars of debt, often no car, and possibly even being crippled for life with no way to provide for their family.
While we all like to save a buck when we can, it still only makes sense to take some time and make sure that we are being covered by a real car insurance company that will be there if you should ever need them. You can go to your state's Department of Insurance and find out which companies are real. Even better is that most states provide some sort of rating system, or show how many complaints have come in, to give you a good idea of the companies track record when it comes to fulfilling claims.
Remember that any company, no matter how good, will have some complaints. You simply want to compare them to other auto insurers so you aren't stuck with a lemon of an auto insurance company.
